Audition for the position of Flute Principal (1. position)

The audition will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at 10:00

Application must contain: - CV including full name and address, - Copy of your identity document, - Copy of High Education Qualifications (Master Degree or Equivalent University Degree), - Work experiences.

Selected candidates will receive official invitation by email together with the required orchestral material 14 days before the audition. A pianist accompanist for the audition performance will be provided. Your own piano accompanist may be brought with you, as well.

  • - W.A.Mozart: or   Concerto Flute In D Major, K.314 (1. mov with cad. & mov. 2)
    or Concerto Flute In G Major, K.315 (1. mov with cad. & mov. 2)
  • - M. Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé solo (Suite no 2, M. 57b: II.).

2. round:

  • - G. Enescu: Cantabile et Presto;
  • - F. Poulenc: Flute Sonate, FP 164: II. mov. Cantilena;
  • - S. Prokofiev: Peter & Wolf: the Bird.

3. round: orchestra excerpts:

  • - G. Rossini: William Tell - Overture – solo;-
  • - P.I. Tchaikovsky: The Sleeping Beauty – act 1 – from no. 220 to 258;
  • - P.I. Tchaikovsky: The Maid of Orleans, cadence – end of the overture;
  • - F. Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night's Dream – Scherzo;
  • - G. Bizet: Intermezzo to act 3. (Carmen);
  • - G. Verdi: Falstaff: - act 1 : 15 bars before no. 35 (8 bars),
    - act 2: from small no. 17 to no. 18;
  • - G. Puccini: Manon Lescaut: - a begining of the act 2,
    - act 2 – from small no. 44 to no. 46;
  • - S. Prokofiev: Romeo & Juliete: act 1 – No. 10, small no. 55 & small no. 57;                      
  • - B. Smetana: The Bartered Bride - Overture.
