Jakob Barbo (1997) graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, studying under Marko Letonja and Simon Dvoršak. As part of his exchange studies, he trained at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professors Reinhard Goebel and Bruno Weil, and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Johannes Wildner. He collaborates with the Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, which he conducted during the 2017/2018 season of the Tutti subscription concerts. For his master's recital in the 2021/2022 season, he prepared a programme of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra. He is active particularly as a conductor of operatic productions at the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana (Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana), the Glasbena matica Music Society Ljubljana, the Slovene Chamber Music Theatre, Cankarjev dom, the Academy of Music, the Janez Trdina Cultural Centre, and other institutions.
