Paul Calderone
Paul Calderone is a freelance composer, dancer, and choreographer of Canadian origin who has been living in Germany for thirteen years. He has performed as a soloist with renowned ballet companies such as Ballett am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Ballett im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. In addition to his work as a dancer, Calderone choreographs and performs his own pieces, including The Human Condition, created for the Volkstheater in Karlsruhe, and I Carry Your Heart, which was performed at the Orangerie Benrath in Düsseldorf. He also presented his work Brothers at the Weltkunstzimmer in Düsseldorf. Over the past six years, Calderone has expanded his practice to include electronic music composition for dance and theatre, collaborating with choreographers across Europe on stage productions, art exhibitions, and film projects.
Most recently, he composed electronic music for Marguerite Donlon, including her piece Elementary Particles at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe as well as her story ballets Romeo and Julia and Orlando.
