Marjan Kozina
Equinox
Opera in Four Acts
Equinox is one of the landmark works of the Slovenian operatic repertoire, in which Marjan Kozina combines powerful dramaturgy, psychological tension, and a richly evocative musical atmosphere.
Inspired by a play by Ivo Vojnović, he created a deeply moving drama in which questions of power intertwine with those of guilt and justice. At the heart of the production are the personal destinies of individuals caught in a web of social pressures and confronted with uncompromising choices.
Kozina's music generates an almost cinematic tension that builds inexorably towards a powerful climax, while in his new staging Janusz Kica highlights the work's timeless relevance and its profound emotional and ethical force.
The production draws audiences into a world of intimate human stories and universal questions of responsibility, justice, and the consequences of our actions.
