Marko Hribernik
Slovenian conductor, born into a musical family, began his musical career as a pianist and graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under Professor Aci Bertoncelj. He received the Student Prešeren Award for his remarkable pianistic achievements. While studying piano, he also decided to pursue his conducting career, first at the Ljubljana Academy of Music under Professor Anton Nanut and later at the University of Music in Vienna under Professor Uroš Lajovic, where he graduated with honours in 2014. He works with all Slovenian orchestras and both national opera theatres. He appears as a guest conductor at various European musical and opera houses and festivals. Marko Hribernik is an Assistant Professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and, since 2021, artistic director of the Slovene National Theatre in Ljubljana. This year, he was appointed general and artistic director of the Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.
