Elena Dobravec

After finishing her studies at the Academy of Music mezzo-soprano Elena Dobravec also graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts RATI-GITIS in Moscow, obtaining a diploma in acting for theatre and film. During this time she was a member of the Actors Ensemble of the Yermolov Drama Theatre in Moscow.

After she had moved to Slovenia she first worked as a Professor of Piano and a Répétiteur in the Nova Gorica Music School (attending at the same time singing lessons at the Conservatory in Venice). In 2001 she became a member of the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana (Slovenian Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana), where she was promoted to soloist in 2007.

She has so far sung the following roles rom the Ljubljana Opera Theatre repertoire: Fenena (Nabucco), Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Bersi (André Chénier), Hedvika (The Rhine Nixies), Bradamante (Alcina), Cherub (The Marriage of Figaro), Carmen (Carmen), Laura (Iolanta), Siébel (Faust), Adelaide (Birdman), Linette (The Love for Three Oranges), Flora (La traviata), Clarina (The Marriage Contract), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Singer (Manon Lescaut) and Cook (Rusalka). She has been regularly performing with the Slovenian Chamber Music Theatre as well as asserting herself as a concert singer.
