Sanja Nešković Peršin

After she had graduated from the Secondary Ballet and Music School in Ljubljana (Slovenia), Sanja Nešković Peršin perfected her ballet skills in Cannes (France) and, later on, on various master classes and ballet workshops in Vienna and New York.
She has been a soloist with the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana (Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana) since 1993. Among the most important roles she has danced with the Ljubljana Ballet Ensemble are: Anna (Anna Karenina), Myrtha (Giselle), Titania (A Midsummer Night's Dream), The Muse (Gershwin), The Girl (The Miraculous Mandarin) and also the roles in such ballets as Ta ljubezen (The Love Stories), Nenadoma … v mojem pogledu (Suddenly … in my Gaze) and Dvojnost (Duality). .She also appeared as The Spirit of Christmas (in the production of The Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol), Fairy Godmother (Cinderella), Mercedes (Don Quixote), Gamzatti (Bayadera), Ana Jelovšek (Swan Lake, An Ideal of a Romantic Ballet- this time … following Prešeren, Bathilde (in Giselle by David Dawson) and as Maria Filipescu in Nori malar (Mad Painter). She also danced in Serenades, Yin & Yang (She is Missing), Mozart vs. Schumann, Tango for Rachmaninov and choreographed her own ballet piece NEVERLAND ING within a ballet evening entitled as Urbanoballet and produced by the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana.
Sanja Nešković Peršin has also acknowledged herself as a versatile author, creating choreography and movement in the field of contemporary performing arts. She has performed in many dance and theatre productions, conceived by the renowned contemporary (Slovenian and foreign) stage directors and choreographers. The artist has also presented her own work on numerous international festivals (Hamburg, Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin, Salzburg, Bergen, Leipzig, Alexandria, Meiningen, Castiglioncello, Warsaw, Trieste …).
